1. Who we are

2. What we collect

  • Public checker: the text you submit is processed in memory only for the duration of the request. It is sent to our AI provider to generate feedback and is not stored on our systems unless you are signed in and choose to save the check.
  • Account data: when you register we store your email address, display name, password (hashed), and optionally a WhatsApp number you provide. We never use your WhatsApp number to message you — it is stored as a contact preference only.
  • Saved checks: if you choose to save a check, we store the submitted text, the optional context tag, the generated result and timestamps against your account.
  • Marketing consent: a boolean preference plus the timestamp at which you gave or withdrew consent.
  • Operational data: standard server logs, error reports and authentication events (sign-in, sign-out, password reset).

3. Lawful basis (UK GDPR)

  • Running the public checker and providing the account features: performance of a contract (your request to use the service) and our legitimate interest in providing the tool.
  • Marketing communications: consent, which you can withdraw at any time from your Account page.
  • Authentication and security: legitimate interest in keeping accounts and data safe.

4. Retention

  • Public submissions: not retained beyond the request that generated them.
  • Saved checks (Free): retained for 1 month from the date you saved them, then automatically deleted by a nightly job. You can delete any saved check immediately from your dashboard.
  • Saved checks (Pro): retained indefinitely until you delete them or close your account.
  • Account data: retained for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account we permanently erase your profile and all saved checks.
  • Logs: retained for up to 30 days for security and debugging.

5. AI processing

Submitted text is sent to a large-language-model provider via the Lovable AI Gateway in order to generate feedback. We do not permit the provider to use your content to train their models. Do not submit special-category personal data or confidential information about identifiable residents or staff.

6. WhatsApp number handling

The WhatsApp number field on your account is optional. We store it only as a contact preference and do not currently use it for outbound messaging. If we introduce WhatsApp messaging in the future we will ask for separate, specific consent before sending anything.

7. Marketing consent

Marketing consent is unticked by default at registration. You can change your preference at any time from your Account page. Withdrawing consent will stop future marketing emails but does not affect transactional messages (e.g. password reset, account verification).

8. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, port, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, and the right to erasure. You can exercise erasure immediately by using Delete my account on your Account page; for any other request, contact us at the address above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

9. Cookies and similar technology

We use only the cookies and local storage strictly necessary to keep you signed in and operate the service. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

10. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified to registered users by email.
